Meeting point: municipality of Pianella.
On this tour you will visit the ancient D'Annibale oil mill in Pianella. Wooden presses, originally from the 1700s, ancient granite millstones and a first electric motor from the 1900s, will lead the visitor into a real dive into the past that spans 3 centuries of history.
A place that for centuries has produced oil from the "Dritta", an excellent variety typical of the area and which allows us to understand the evolution of production techniques, the socio-economic importance of this crop for the city and how, today, it is possible to taste what is considered one of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world.
Then you will move on to a modern oil mill operating in the production where you can see how the work of oil production has changed over time, know its current production processes and learn more about the fascinating world of extra virgin olive oil. At the end with a guided tasting you will learn how to make a sensorial and tasting olfactory analysis of the oil.
